Re: First impressions of new signings
Feghouli looked good pre season.

But they are all pretty rubbish including Fegholi.

Shit is a strong word but they are pretty shit.

Please God they prove me very wrong.

Re: First impressions of new signings
Feghouli - lightweight, but hint of something v soton;
Tore - one cross does not make a winger
Norvedt - looked good v nz domale, but woefully slow, bring back Alex song, Joey o'brien;
Zara - okayish v soton, but don't, Don't! Spend £25m on him;
Fernandez - lively in non damaging positions;
Calleri- not a patch on Valencia;
Arbeloa - looks ok
Matsuoka - did very well, but missed the wba travesty, so wait and see.

Looks like we signed junk that other clubs didn't want

Ayew - brilliant, can't resist the sarcasm

Re: First impressions of new signings
Truth to tell all our signings, not just the recent one's who've got the excuse of settling in, are woefully off the pace.

With the possible exception being Antonio.

Re: First impressions of new signings
All either average or below average.

Poor signings, homework clearly not done.

Zaza is up there alongside John Radford, Lee Chapman, David Kelly and Ian Dowie.

Makes Mike Small seem like Alan Shearer.

Miike

yes that is the question I posed earlier in the thread and it is as pertinent now as then, I am convinced is the font of the problem

We collected a bag of expensive shite, abject shite bar the pups and I could see Bilic playing the shite he did not want to prove the point. Mind you, I might be doing him a service he does not warrant, he wanted Tore and he is an absolute cunt

Re: First impressions of new signings
I'd love someone to ask slaven what signings were players he'd asked for, I know silkman's still creeping about in the background. at least with a director of football it's down to one man, we seem to have umpteen cunts interferring

1 positive. Arbeloa looks composed and solid and can play on both sides.

Re: First impressions of new signings
WHy the hell did Bilic bring Feghouli on today, he was pony against Accrington Stanley, looks like he'll never make in the English league.

Big Dawg 5:41 Thu Sep 22
Re: First impressions of new signings
Nordvelt, Tore, Zaza, Calleri have all enough chances to impresses, but they are totally pony! I'd go as far to say we should have re-signed Alex Song, with a full pre season Im pretty sure he would of been able to replicate his first season with us.

Arthur has looked very good with exception of the WBA game.
Arbeloa - whilst it was only Accrington Stanley his positional play was great, passes and decision making was great too.

Feghouli looks ok, but was poor last night.

As much as he is a total cunt, we need sakho back in the team.

Can't believe we spent 50million and seem to have gone backwards...

What are the rumours re unrest vs Bilic and Senior players...?

Re: First impressions of new signings
We tried doing it on the cheap and fucked up.

I've defended the transfer approach on the basis of having a big squad for a euro run even that I didn't really agree with it, but as last night shows even that was bullocks.

Improve your first team in the summer or suffer the consequences. That's where we are at.

Re: First impressions of new signings
Zaza and Calleri have no bollocks. Both are neither strong enough, have the courage or the nouse to play up front. can you imagine them up against a Huth? He would eat them for fucking breakfast - easy meat.

Tore is overweight and lacking in fitness but he did manage to string some passes and create albeit against 4 th tier opposition

El Scorchio 10:15 Thu Sep 22
Re: First impressions of new signings
Very worried about Tore, Zaza and Callieri at the moment. All look like dogs.

I'm hoping all Zaza needs is a little time and patience to get up to speed and a first goal to get him going.

Lots of people criticising that we'd only got them on loan. Bet they're not doing that any more!

Tore looks pretty woeful in particular. Zaza and Callieri just look a bit lost so I have a little more hope for them.

Notwithstanding struggles against premier league opposition- they all let themselves down last night considering the opposition. Saying that, they got precious little support from the rest of the team anyway.

Sven Roeder 9:44 Thu Sep 22
Re: First impressions of new signings
Zaza's price tag is about £25m isn't it .... the option on Tore about £13m & I am sure they would have wanted £10m at least for Calleri.
Can you imagine if we'd just dropped about £50m on these on 5 year contracts?

Are we allowed to judge them yet, you soppy cunts??

Absolute pile of steaming fucking shit.

Re: First impressions of new signings
Arthur decent and I hope Fernandez is good, but the rest are as expected, bargain bin cheapo free transfer loan with option to buy junk

Feghouli and Tore are pony.

Re: First impressions of new signings
A major annoyance for me is seeing other teams' signings not needing 6 games to acclimatise - eg Slimani at Leicester, and other more local signings who to be fair were tipped on here, e.g. Guede at Everton, looking invincible.

Re: First impressions of new signings
We did try to sign right-backs earlier in the Summer window.

Re: First impressions of new signings
Centre of midfield, centre of defence and right back were areas not deemed in need of strengthening. At best, Nordveit was chosen as the only additional defensive player until late panic where Arthur and the old Spainard were brought in. There is the problem.

Nordveit was part of a midfield pairing with the geezer that cost 30 million and went to Arsenal. Sullivan went for the freebie. Pay peanuts....get...

SullyHammer 7:27 Sun Sep 18
Re: First impressions of new signings
Fletcher and Calleri both need to start on Wednesday and hopefully play the full 90.
